Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which size of pattern should I pick to sew?
If the size you need is NOT in the size table, please send me message of your body measurement data. I can UPGRADE the pattern for you for FREE. Just send me the email ( info@studio82patterns.com ) or convo. About the size, you can check the item gallery. There is size table in both Metric and Imperial. And one more thing, the size table shows the actual apparel measurement. So, when you choose the size to sew, You may add 6cm more at least to your body measurement. For example: if your bust measurement is 86cm, then you should add 6cm ~12cm to it( 6cm is for the tight fit and 12cm is for the loose fit). The result should be 92cm ~ 98cm. It means you should choose the pattern size base on these 2 figures ( 92cm ~ 98cm) at the bust. If you choose item with stand-collar, you should take neck girth into your consideration. Also, you should add 2~3cm to the neck girth measurement. Last but not least, DON'T choose the size only base on the NAME of the size:) But you can always send me your body measurement, let me to choose it for you ASAP :) . I highly recommend checking your measurements according to the pattern piece to check which size you are closest to as this may be different to what you may buy from the shop. each pattern has it own size chart in the item detail. Please check it carefully. If you have trouble to choose the right size, please email me ( info@studio82patterns.com ) , or send me convo directly:)

  • How do I download the pattern?
When you purchase a pattern, you will create an account. As soon as online payment received (e.g. credit card, PayPal, etc.), a confirmation email is sent to the customer with a download link. The link also appears on the Thank You page. You can download your pattern and the instructions from your account and save them to your computer. It's Zip file. So you need to uncompress it in advance. the patterns are sorted in different printing size paper. it looks like the image bellow. The patterns can be printed on standard A4/A3/A0/Letter paper and taped together to create the pattern. You will also receive a separate file including the sewing instructions. The patterns in my shop have video tutorial you can find the video link in the item detail, or you can browse the video tutorial at my YouTube channel www.youtube.com/c/studio824ever . You will also have an A0 file which can be sent to a copy shop for printing. It can save you more time to tap them together. BUT, it cost some money. Once you have stuck it all together you can get right on with the sewing. Patterns include all seam allowances. You can choose to trace the patterns onto tracing paper or cut them right off the printed sheets. *Please note that you will need Acrobat Reader or a similar software for opening PDF files. You can download Acrobat Reader for free here. *If you need software to UNZIP the zip file, you can download the 7zip software for free. Here is the download link: https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

  • How 2 Assemble the Pattern Papers
Here is the video tutorial : https://youtu.be/smQpktDwIqs You should arrange the paper according to the page number. The order is from left to right, from up to down, start with page 1. this pattern splits as ? pages per row, ? pages per column. ( the number will marked on the first page of the pattern) One more thing : When you print out the pattern, you should know different printers may have different ( default) margin value , the difference may vary from 1mm to 5mm. It is not possible to remove the predefined physical margin reserved for the printer.the physical margin value is a fixed thing associated with certain type of printers. It can’t be removed. So, the EASIESTt way to assemble the pattern is to use the PDF file with margin 0mm. Just put the paper edge by edge. But please be aware that the lines of the pattern are not totally printed out on the edges, due to the printer’s physical margin. When you assemble the papers together, make sure the lines on two papers go along with each other on the projected curves. Do not directly abut the lines together, you may lose the length. You may also draw the missing parts of the lines by yourself, as long as it goes with projection of curves. or you can save the time just "draw" the line in your mind :) P.S. If you the pattern you printed has outline, then you should have to cut off the edges from each paper, and assemble them seamlessly.
