⭐️ Other Information:

**"Chenyi" (衬衣)** in Chinese. It is a traditional garment worn by Manchu women during the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912). Here’s an introduction to the **Chenyi**:

---

### **Overview of Chenyi**
- **Chenyi** is an informal, full-length robe designed for daily wear by Manchu women. It was typically worn indoors or during casual occasions.
- Unlike the more formal **Qipao** (旗袍) or **Chaofu** (朝服, court robes), the **Chenyi** was simpler in design and decoration, making it more comfortable for everyday use.

---

### **Design and Features**
1. **Silhouette**:
   - The **Chenyi** is a long, loose-fitting robe that reaches the ankles.
   - It has a straight cut with wide sleeves and a high collar, reflecting the traditional Manchu style.

2. **Closure**:
   - The robe is fastened diagonally from the collar to the right armpit, a distinctive feature of Manchu clothing.

3. **Fabric and Decoration**:
   - The **Chenyi** was made from lightweight fabrics like silk or cotton, suitable for daily wear.
   - It often featured subtle embroidery or patterns, but the decoration was less elaborate compared to formal robes.

4. **Colors**:
   - The colors of the **Chenyi** were usually soft and understated, such as pastel shades, to reflect its informal nature.

---

### **Cultural Significance**
- The **Chenyi** represents the practicality and elegance of Manchu women's clothing during the Qing Dynasty.
- It reflects the Manchu people's adaptation to their environment and lifestyle, as the loose fit and high collar were designed to suit their nomadic origins and the colder climate of northern China.

---

### **Comparison with Other Robes**
- **Formal Robes (e.g., Chaofu)**: These were heavily embroidered and worn for official or ceremonial occasions.
- **Qipao**: The modern Qipao evolved from the Manchu robe but is more fitted and tailored, unlike the looser **Chenyi**.

---

The **Chenyi** is an important part of Manchu cultural heritage and offers a glimpse into the daily life and fashion of Manchu women during the Qing Dynasty. If you’d like more details or historical context, feel free to ask!
